What would be the best way of maximizing the longevity of a Tesla?

When I rented a Model 3 while visiting my son in Kentucky, I vaguely recall reading in the Tesla online info, that charging to 100% is OK, as long as you are going to be driving the car within a certain amount of time, which I can't recall. Just like Torrid mentions. So I'm a little curious...

Power steering fluid in brake fluid

Look up the SDS for each of them, and see what is listed for specific gravity. That will tell you what you want to know.

    3,000 Mile Oil Change

Is yours also a daily fix? I can't relate to this claim. I have seven UOA from my wife's '13 Outback 2.5l. The last UOA was at 120k miles. All seven of them report fuel % at <0.5. So the Outback is on a 7,500 oci. Always has been. Nothing in any of those UOA's that say I should be...

Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not too lewd, no gas price pics etc.

If there are down sides to AWD, this has got to be one of them. Everyone that has never driven anywhere but paved roads, now thinks they can drive on the beach and in the mountains with their AWD car. Ground clearance? Why do I need that? Drop the tire pressure to 10 psi? But the label in...

Best Free GPS Speed Phone App ?

I use one called Speedometer Speed Tracker GPS. You have to go through a couple ads when you first open the app, but it is otherwise free. It displays speed, top speed, average speed, altitude and distance travelled. I use it on Apple, but I also used it on Android before I went to the dark...

    Wendy's Now Cares

For me, what ruins most fast food chains, is the lack the lack of consistency from one restaurant to another. It isn't just the quality of food preparation, but also quality of service, dining room cleanliness and other factors. Since this discussion was originally about Wendy's, I'll share...

Best toilet for my new house?

If you are looking for a step above the Toto, Kohler, American Standard and such, look at Gerber. They are just a little nicer, and will look good in your bathroom.

    Your favorite jobber oil filters?

I can't think of a time when I have ever used a jobber type filter. I've removed a few of them off cars that I have bought, but they have always been replaced with at least a mid grade Fram, or better. I agree with those who ask the question of why, when a decent filter can be had for a...

    Why is Cinco de Mayo.....

Yup. I heard we can thank Corona for the huge celebration of cinco de mayo on the North side of the border.

Magazine's prediction on prices from 30 years ago appear to be off (tongue in cheek)

Thanks for taking the time to do the math. I did notice that the magazine ad said it would take $65k to buy a "basic car". One could argue that the most basic car would be a Corolla or Civic, or Sentra. But let's say that more of a mid range basic car would be a Sonata or Accord or Camry...

What’s your favorite weed and grass killer spray concentrate?

The weeds should start It should start dying sooner, and be better dead. If I understand correctly, a surfactant makes it easier for the weed killer to absorb into the plant.

What’s your favorite weed and grass killer spray concentrate?

From what I can tell from the labels, Trimec has the same three active ingredients as MEC Amine-D. For weed control on the lawn, I use the MEC Amine-D with a surfactant.

What’s your favorite weed and grass killer spray concentrate?

IFA, a farm and store chain here in Northern Utah, has a leaflet that they post by the weed killers. The leaflet has a recipe for "Killing Hard-to-Kill Weeds in Non-Turf Areas". For each gallon of water: 1 oz spreader sticker/wetting agent. 2 oz. 2, 4-D. 3 oz. glyphosate. For the 2, 4-D, I...

Educate me on the federal tax credit for buying a USED EV.

I think you totally underestimate the frugality of many of us. Getting or not getting the tax credit may not be a deal breaker. But $1500 important to anyone, especially someone who is careful with expenses.
