I did front and rear pads and rotors on my Mom's 2014 Fusion a few weeks ago. Was able to put it in service mode with a button dance. Best part on that application is you can just push the rear pistons back in and don't need to turn them in.
Some people will throw some cash down and walk out. We have an envelope in the manager's (thank God I'm not a manager anymore) desk and when there is enough we get pizza or tacos for the department.
True, but as a dealer we can't do that. I do have to laugh when people come in and their fobs won't close because they tried to stuff a 2032 in where a 2025 belongs. Or with certain Ford fobs, try to stuff 2 2032s where 2 2025s belong and get mad at us because they broke their fob.
We do both the key fob and vehicle batteries in CX-5s all the time. The vehicle battery is just a group 35,nothing special. And the keyfob battery is either a 2025 or a 2032 depending on the year. Sounds like your co-irker likes to do things the hard way.
They probably should have said something to the effect of "it has not been tested and confirmed to work in that application, and until it is we do not recommend it for that application.'
That was pretty much exactly how it looked. I totally get the store owner's frustration. There have been multiple smash and grab robberies all around LA at jewelers. The security camera footage showed maybe 20 or more people waiting to get in and join in the rampage.
Usually when I look up parts for a GM, they will have the RPO code listed that you can refer against the one in the glovebox, or wherever the sticker is on yours.
Doing just the headgasket is a stop gap for fixing the real issue which is the block itself. There is an updated shortblock that requires matching gaskets for it to work. Sometimes we do a longblock because it is less labor and the warranty for the customer is better.
I worked at the 2000 and 2001 shows with Civil Air Patrol. I really want to go back one of these years. Ardie and Ed's was really good and would be fun to go to again.
