Oil for a hard working Hemi

You Hemi haters!!!! I think that the issues with the cams and lifters stems from the OLM....way to generous. I change mine at 5000 kms and the outgoing lube is trashed. Extending past this will lead to accelerated wear. These Hemis are really tough on oil requiring high quality oil at a short...

Grades range from 7 to 8 percent with air temps between 90 too 100 degrees. Grades are long with little cresting to ease off the load of the engine. I dont push it but oil temps are at 110 degrees celcius and tranny temps are at 90.

So....both the rotella 5w30 and delo 0w30 meet SN performance guidelines. Which one? The Delo is for sure a little thinner. Can't find a VOA for it

That the 5W30 Rotella T6 comes from a diesel oil lineage and may contribute to cat degradation

Well I'm worried about....cat poisoning. Just want to see if there is a synthetic Gas option that will be as good. The 5w30 Rotella is gas/diesel lube just looking to explore comparable options, if available, in the pcmo side of things.

Oil for a hard working Hemi

Good day. 2014 Ram 1500 with the 5.7. In the summers I tow often. Truck isn't maxed but I live in a hot and dusty valley so every trip in the hot summer involves an extended steep grade to leave. Our highways are also laden with steep extended grades. I have been running the Rotella 5W30 T6 with...

Does 5W-30 REALLY protect better than 5W-20?

Depends. If your racing your Hyundai pumping nitrus or towing steep inclines in the hot summer....yes 5w30. If your going to drive it like you stole it....who cares you stole it....if you just cruise and drive like the other 97% of the population...5w20 is perfect.
