I already bought a Motorcraft filter for my truck about 6 months or so ago before I started doing more research on oil filters. I always thought oem filters were the way to go and they might still be for certain brands I guess.
Should I run the Motorcraft filter or buy one of the filters...
I haven't seen any here but on the ford-trucks forum someone did cut a fl1995 and a fl1995a filter to compare. I don't see a ADBV on these either. I also don't know if quality has changed since 2021 when the fl1995a shown was cut open...
I was looking at it as well but the filtration isn't that good apparently. "ISO 4548-12 at 46 microns" is what the website says so if I went with Purolator I would use the Purolator One "ISO 4548-12 at 20 microns" instead.
Funny enough the Microgard Select filter is $16-$23 cheaper compared to the Motorcraft filter depending where you buy it.
Are the Acdelco filters in the same category?
After reading about Motorcraft oil filter quality posts and the Fram leaky leaf spring issue recently I wonder if I should run something different. My oci has been every year because the truck only gets driven about 350-500 miles a year using Rotella t4.
Should I switch to a Premium Guard oil...
