    Oil Filter Value Analysis

Whet does Eff score, Micron Score and Filter Life score mean?

So what's the "go-to" PEA based fuel additive? Indirect and direct injection engines...

Good to know :) I bought one of each of these on sale the other day, tossed in the high mileage yesterday when filling the tank and went for a 75km drive. Plan to empty the tank (another 700km) and then get the oil change i've been putting off...

Interesting, thanks. I will bear this in mind for the future, your post is bookmarked :) Sounds good, and Canadian Tire has Gumout on sale this week for 20% off and is local, i will grab some high mileage version this evening. The issue i have been having is slight engine knock under >50%...

So what's the "go-to" PEA based fuel additive? Indirect and direct injection engines...

The thing is if i buy one a year then its going to matter. I did e-mail the company asking about it, no reply yet (probably went home early on Friday), but hopefully this week. I also found a store that carries Redline SL1 in a city only 45 mins drive away.

PEA seems to be hard to find in Canada (outside Amazon) but Canadian Tire has Gumout products. Three have PEA according to their website (All in One Fuel System Cleaner, High Mileage Fuel System Cleaner and Complete Fuel System Cleaner) but i don't know which one has the highest concentration...

    Oil Filter Value Analysis

I agree, but the money part to pay for the testing is an issue.

What OCI should i be considering?

Yeah, i guess i am being cautious, i used to stick to 6 months religiously, though i am looking to loosen that a bit. If i were in the USA i would get a cheap oil analysis done, measured numbers are always easier to plan around.

What OCI should i be considering?

Indeed, though i am open to stretching it a bit. And the upgraded filter should also be good i'm hoping.

What OCI should i be considering?

Never been low yet. Every 6 months with Mobil One synthetic. Overkill i suspect except the one time i did 9.5K in 3 months. Recently bought Fram ultra synthetic filter for the first time. Thanks, unless my habits change i am still looking at 10k/year of driving.

What OCI should i be considering?

In another thread i was told the filter does not really matter  I'm not willing to go to once a year and filter every other year, though i am willing to go beyond 6 months.

What OCI should i be considering?

Been thinking about this a bit, what is the difference between the bulk oil and the Mobil 1 synthetic i am using which allows for longer OCIs?

What OCI should i be considering?

Me low post count member, sorry 🤦‍♂️ The eternal question.

What OCI should i be considering?

Makes sense, though i am not ready to commit to that yet. I might extend to 9 months and see what happens. I don't disagree, but i am a numbers person and i have none to work with. If i had an UOA that showed lots of life then that would be hard data. BTW anyone seen this YouTube vid where he...

What OCI should i be considering?

Good to know, thanks. SL oil was the name of the game back in 2005, i used to use Royal Purple but when they went to SN i switched to Mobil 1. I also used to do a lot more kms/year, so i would do it every 6 months, these days the oil is better and i drive a lot less. I am a pretty gentle...

What OCI should i be considering?

Why are you confident this would suffice? Not that i know of but how do i find out? I guess i like to learn more and adjust as needed. If i can safely save a few bucks (or $75 as it were) i'm all for it. For example i am upgrading to a Fram oil filter for better filtering than my Mobil 1 30...
