2004 Lexus, 167k miles. Would 4 previous owners scare you off?

Nah, its a Toyota. Its basically a Camry with leather seats and wood grain.

    Overfilled Engine Oil

I wouldnt worry about half a quart. Lots of people who do racing overfill engines by up to a quart with no issues. If a V8 turning 8K rpm doesnt froth the oil, I wouldnt be worried about your hatchback. One time I overfilled my Accord by half a quart and ran it for 12K miles like that. Its not...

Truth or Myth: Modern Engines STILL Require Break-in

Engine break-in is a thing, although Id say it happens much quicker than people think and the metal particles in the oil are not as harmful as people think.

    Not Ohio!

I live in Ohio (not from here though, thank God) and I always found it interesting how Ohio tries to act like they invented airplanes and try to claim the Wright Brothers.

Rear brakes wear faster than front

Its not just a thing on newer vehicles. My '06 Camry was like that. I think its because of how small the pads on rear brakes are.

This is one mans opinion, Cobalt poisoning if near EV fire, good to know.

As opposed to the health risks of standing next to a gasoline car thats on fire? IMO, this is nothing more than fearmongering from the anti-EV crowd.

    Bratwurst

Ive had the Bell's before. Theyre not bad. Theyre no Johnsonvilles, Usingers, Klements or anything like brats from a local butcher but they arent bad. To me fair though, I was born and raised in Wisconsin; so Ive been pretty spoiled when it comes to good brats.

Do you have "brand loyalty"??? e.g., Purchased the same make of vehicle your entire adult life?

Nope. I'll buy whatever I like, whatever gets good reviews and gets favorable quality/reliability ratings. I grew up with Fords, learned how to drive in a Bronco, drove a Toyota in high school, bought another Toyota when I got out of high school, then had a couple Ford trucks, then bought a...

Did You Do A "Break-In" Oil Change On Your Riding Lawn Mower/Zero-Turn?

Typically its after 4 or 5 hours. Id also caution you not to make the jump to synthetic oil until the engine has a fair amount of time on it (300 hours or more). Sometimes switching to synthetic too soon doesnt allow the engine to fully break in properly and to be fair, mower engine really needs...

    Recommendations for gas handheld blower

Echo and Stihl are good options. Ive got an Echo and its a beast. Its kind of cold-blooded and you need to let it run for a minute before it really wakes up but once it gets fully warm its awesome. Stihl makes a good blower too but Im just partial to Echo.

Why ICE is here to stay for some time?

Thats one of the reasons but not the only. Part of it is the electric grid, part of it is because even once the last ICE car has been produced, youre still looking at probably 20 years before they are all off of the road. Part of it too is because the enthusiasts arent going to buy electric...

Prefilling Oil Filters & How many Changes until all old oil is gone

I change mine with the oil slightly warm so that it drains faster but not so much that the oil or engine is scalding hot. As for how much old oil and contaminants you get out, if youre talking 4 or 5 quarts and theres maybe half a quart of old oil left in the engine, Id say 3.5 or 4.5 quarts of...

When buying a vehicle- what is the deal breaker?

For me its cost. If cost werent a factor, I would have owned a Tacoma instead of my Ranger and a Tundra instead of my F-150. I love Toyotas and theyre awesome, well-made vehicles that are worth every penny but if you dont have the money, it doesnt really matter.

    Day Trippin' in the Maverick

Im a big fan of the Maverick. It just seems like a great little rig. Ive currently got a '15 Honda Accord with 205K on it and Im probably going to be looking at replacing it in the next 5 years or so. When the time comes, as much as I want a Tacoma, Im going to have to give the Maverick a real...

Just purchased an EGO mower, any experience?

Yeah, if youre looking at a Ryobi or Hart. Makita makes one that is around $600 and comes with 4 batteries. I might go that route when the time comes to replace my Honda. It would give me an excuse to get into Makita's 18v line of tools. If not, I might just go Ryobi 40v. Part of me just wants...
