    FedEx; missing packages

Fedex has mis-directed several of my packages in the past: Delivered a new laptop to a neighbor 4 houses down. I was actively waiting at home for the Fedex truck (his usual late afternoon delivery time), and then I get a "delivered" notification in the app. I put 2-n-2 together and figured...

Flew on a brand new American 787-900

Headed to Japan later this month, will be flying All Nippon Airways (ANA) direct to Haneda, on a 787-9 with their older-style business class seating: On some of the newer 787-9s, their "THE Room FX" business class seats are described as "lounging on the living room sofa":

Mammoth 777-200LRF Low-Pass @ Horseshoe Bay Resort Jet Center

Not a fan of Captain Steeve, but he made a fair point in his video about this planned fly-by - If you're going to do a fly-by for your rich friends at the resort (i.e., the guy standing at the right spot to capture it near the end of the video, the group of friends/spectators talking in the...

Handicapped or entitled? Not returning shopping cart

At some of the Costcos in my area, the cart corral is more than half-way down the parking lane, and then folks leave the carts in the fire lane, or along the sidewalk, or worse - against the Fire Escape double doors. People!

Mammoth 777-200LRF Low-Pass @ Horseshoe Bay Resort Jet Center

Um, yeah, that's even way too low for a "Low Pass"... Watch that right wing tip!!! Mammoth has already released a statement: https://www.mammoth777.com/_files/ugd/a48ac7_23762926a16c4e3d89ccb3b6c42d4cac.pdf

BMW S1000XR Flat Rear Tire on Country Road - AAA Towing Is A Joke!

Just to wrap-up the story. My neighbor ordered two new Metzler tires from the BMW dealer for his S1000XR. To my surprise, the 2nd (try of the) tire plug from the AutoZone kit held air, and he was able to ride to the dealer. Phew...! The service appointment was contingent on ordering and...

Car/Motorcycle Accident in Vancouver, BC - Cycle Ends Up on Traffic Light Stanchion

What I've learned from this back-and-forth is this crash scenario and the estimated projected speed at impact with the car would be an excellent final exam question for my Physics 101 I took as a freshman many, many years ago, assuming a few known variables, that is. ;)

    Oil change in parking lot

Sorry for the tangent, but I have a similar story in my neighborhooed. Just uphill from my house is common area. It's an area where the 3-car wide road crosses a ravine in our subdivision, and also has a 15-20% grade. The road is bordered by green space with alot of maples. As these big-lead...

    Oil change in parking lot

Buy an oil extractor. Makes removing oil quick and easy. If you do it at the auto parts store, just take the extractor inside afterwards and then just dump the used oil in the collection tank.

Recommend a E-bike in the $1500 range. TIA

FWIW, I've owned a Juiced RipCurrent S E-Bike since 2022. 750W Hub motor, about 75 mile range, and as of Nov '24, the original Juiced E-Bikes went out-of-business. Fortunately, I've not had any issues with bike. Last few weekends, I've rode both paved and unimproved rails-to-trails in the...

A quart of Valvoline Restore and Protect added to euro oil change?

FWIW, I did a hybrid mix on my last oil change on my 2021 SQ5 Sportback w/3.0 TFSI - 2.5 qts of Valvoline Restore and Protect 0W20 and 5 qts of Mobil 1 ESP X2 0W20. I had run the Valvoline Restore and Protect 0W20 for 5k oil change interval previously, had some left-over, so put the remaining...

Not unusual to see a logging truck in the PNW, but the diameter of this old growth tree in the center got my attention:

    1977 CR 125M "barn find"

1st legit dirt bike I owned was a '78 RM125. Twin-shock rear suspension and 40mm carb. Just remembered how much you had to "stay on the pipe"/fanning the clutch when climbing a hill, else it was bog city. There are a few abandoned railroad right-of-ways that went through town I'd use to...
