    f-150 2.7 Eco-Boost Sheared 5W-30 down to 5W-20. Which oil to buy?

Pennzoil 5w30 Euro L would be a good one or you could use 0w40 M1. I've used both in my 3.5 ecoboost F150, I've never used the Castrol euro oils.

2013 Dodge Grand Caravan - Replacement Struts

I installed a set of Mando quick struts on our 2012 Traverse almost exactly 4 years ago and they are still working as they should. I wouldn't hesitate to use Mando struts again. On a side note the original struts were replaced under warranty in 2015 and the GM struts the dealer installed at that...

    Aged-out Tires From 2011

Take a look on marketplace for some good used tires on rims. I've had some luck finding (and selling) rims and tires on there for my kids cars and my Mustangs.

    Aged-out Tires From 2011

I wouldn't hang those tires off a boat dock! Not sure a 2003 Santa Fe is worth putting money into, hope she gets a safe vehicle.

    Block heater power calculation

I use the black rubber sealed ones you can buy at CT, but even those don't last more then a few years. We had a Ford Windstar burn down in out parking lot at work about 20 years ago. The guy wired his block heater to his interior warmer under the hood and it shorted out. I'm not a fan of...

    Block heater power calculation

Block heaters don't shut themselves off, it's just a simple heating element. Some GM ones have a ambient temperature shut off that interrupts the circuit at anything warmer then -18C. But other then that they don't shut off. I don't plug it in until the temp hits -16C, and once below -26C or so...

    Block heater power calculation

I check the resistance of ours before winter to make sure they're still working. Those plug ends don't last forever.

Please help. Melted drive belt onto pulleys

Use a small sharp knife to cut into the melted rubber on the pulleys and hopefully it'll just peel off the pulley. Then I'd hit them with brake cleaner to try and get some more off. If you use a wire wheel I'd start with a brass wired one. I'd skip the MEK, we used it at work back in the 90's...

    Another Yea or Nay - 2017 Ford 3.5 NA/ 6 spd trans

The transverse mounted 3.5 fords have a Internal water pump that can leak coolant that contaminates the engine oil and are pricey to fix. Not sure how common these failures are but something to be aware of.

NGK Ruthenium spark plugs after 80k miles

If it's a plastic valve cover I'd buy a new one that comes with a gasket and new tube seals installed. I changed the seals and gasket on my ecoboost only to have the valve cover crack 18 months later.

    Sway Bars

I've found that sway bar end links will make noise almost anytime your suspension moves. We're on our third set on our Traverse now, Moog greaseable ones on now and they're almost ready to be changed again. These are wear items in my opinion on this vehicle. The noise could be a strut or a...

How do people live who work the night shift without waking up the neighbors?

I worked all sorts of shifts, I actually find I get more errands done when working 7pm to 7 am then I do working 7am to 7pm. Like taking tires in to get mounted and the shop is open 7am-6pm!!! Plus when you get 4 days off a week you have lots of time to mow the lawn. :)
