MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

Serbia (Eastern Europe). In general Europe as a whole got hit by some large scale fakes recently. So many more countries affected. Since CASTROL is made in different countries. None of them are what I call "reputable" and "non corrupt" That's what I'm gonna do. That's what my feeling was...

MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

Well 2 things. 1.I noticed that my last 2 cans of oil while being “genuine”, had puncture marks and signs that they were cut in to. Basically, some disributors buy original oil. Extract the genuine oil via small holes that they bore in to the packaging. Replace it with cheap junk. And then...

MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

Hmmm, maybe with a cheaper one to be used for that intermittent step. That could work.

MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

Thats what Im hoping to minimize. Ok you only add 300ml of the stuff on top of 5L oil. Its most likely going to be all out.

MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

JC1, That is one way to do it. But it requires both time and is hella expensive. No oil cleans the engine as good as the chemical that is dedicated for the job sadly. There are oils that keep the engine clean. Oil flush is the best "nuclear option" when you done f-ucked it up somewhere. :( The...

MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

Hello, Audi TT 2.0TFSI (EU market), 57,000miles, LONG drain interval (every 2 years or 18k miles. Although I tend to drive a lot less miles yearly and just end up changing it because of 2 year interval). I used to use Castrol EDGE Titanium LL. Although I learned that the supplier that sold me...

MOTUL or Castrol engine flush question

There is no way around it I may need an engine/oil flush treatment. I will go for MOTUL engine clean 300ml bottle (which is added to 5L of old oil in engine). QUESTION: Won't the fact that you can never get 100% of old oil out, mean that your new oil will be mixing with say 10% of old oil +...

    MOTUL questions

Question: If I do decide to do engine flush with stuff like Castrol or MOTUL shampoos. Won't the fact that you can never get 100% of old oil out, mean that your new oil will be mixing with say 10% of old oil + whatever engine flush chemical I pour? Essentially compromising the new oil?

    MOTUL questions

I couldn't find the Castrol Engine Shampoo, but they do have MOTUL Engine cleaner 300ml. I will give that a go. Since I do long oil intervals it wouldn't hurt to do an oil/engine flush. Car has done 56.500miles with long intervals and never had a flush, plus like I said few dodgy oil changes...

Sadly GTX is labelled as "dealership" "car service centres" only oil. As in, you cannot buy the oil in stores. Hence why I am fishing for Castrol Shampoo. :)

    MOTUL questions

Aha I understand now. Im always going for VW504 and 5w-30 :) Oh well, at least now the VW504 will be cheaper since there is a "new king in town". I am excited to try the Motul 8100X Clean+. Hope it will wash the engine better. I tried to get my hands on Castrol GTX 5w-30 oil (the one with...

    MOTUL questions

I didnt know VW511 was not approved for earlier models. Interesting. Not that I have ever seen VW511 oil here. But good to know that I am not to pour that oil in to my VW504 car. Problem here is that even "brick and mortar" channels are compromised. But I found a way to get a very sure source.

    MOTUL questions

    1. I buy my fluids & filters from our countries "popular" car part stores. Yes I agree, the counterfeit can happen to any other brand. But Castrol always had the biggest issue here sadly. Because the brand is too popular and one of the more expensive ones. :( If you are going to jail, might as...

    MOTUL questions

    1. Castrol has been hit by a massive influx of "fake" oils. And I dont want to second guess what I bought and what Im pouring in to my 60.000EUR car :D. Some of the new "fakes" use the original bottles, they drain the original oil, sell the original to someone, pour their fake stuff in to the...
