Why are OEM tires so bad?

Double-post, see #16 on previous page.

What are you working on today?

Installed OE MOPAR skid plates for the Ram, covering the front suspension and differential area as well as the transfer case. They should also add some extra rigidity to the frame, but more importantly, protect the underside from those ladders one finds in the middle of the freeway... Each one...

    Ceramic Coating review

I'm partial to Griot's 3-in-1 Ceramix Spray Wax. Easy on and off, lasts a good long while and makes the shine look deep.

Molygen with or without the DPF symbol?

    Thank you for the correction.

Molygen with or without the DPF symbol?

Diesel engines requires a diesel-rated oil since they produce soot as a byproduct of combustion. The soot must be held in suspension or it will act as an abrasive particle, causing accelerated wear internally (think sand in your shorts). For your diesel, you must use a diesel-rated oil (the C...

    Diesel additives for DPF/EGR longevity

Am I the only one that has used and likes LM's DPF Protect? Amazon carries it, as does IDparts.com and others.

    Fresh Oil filter Every time?

Since I do topside vacuum extraction and I have top-mounted filter cartridges on both vehicles, I opt to just leave filter in place and only replace every other OCI. No issues to report.

    Just mowing the lawn...

In my neighborhood, it's a game of who blinks first. He who does, loses for the rest of the year because now everyone else has to keep up with him.

    Ford 3.0L diesel; Oil

I believe that's a reference to Mobil Delvac1, a great oil many of us opt for.

2016 Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 XRT

Triples are sweet motors. They have the throaty, raspy sound similar to a V-twin but the power and rpm band of a 4-inline. Riding season will be upon us shortly here in WI, can't wait to get out on my Yamaha FJ with the CP3.

Would you buy a bike with 68,000 miles?

Any moto is better than no moto in my book. Enjoy that V-strom! My first moto was a Suzuki SV650 which shares a very similar V-twin engine but only 650cc. It had great low end torque and decent sound, really good on fuel too, so I imagine the 996cc will get you moving swiftly. I see some road...

    Real world pickup fuel mileage?

The only fuel efficient half ton pickups will be those that are diesel-powered: the baby Duramax in the GMC twins (Sierra and Silverado) and the EcoDiesel in the Ram. As for me, nearly 2 years with mine and 22K miles during which the lifetime average is 26+ mpg without trying.

2021 wrx low on power with a low fuel tank

Most likely scenario: since the fuel in the tank was so low, it progressively became hotter as the unburned fuel from the injection system returns back to the tank. The hotter the fuel itself becomes, the fuel temp sensor will instruct the ECU to pull back timing, resulting in lower power.

Changed oil on the 535d today

Top-side extraction is the way to go for sure. You can be replacing the oil filter while the old oil is getting sucked out, thereby shortening the total time. I like to drive up on Rhino ramps and take a peek underneath, to make sure there are no leaks or other issues I would see if doing the...
