This exact scenario happened to me. 2 shops said l just had to replace my compressor... Nope. After $600 for 2 recharges and a new compressor, l found out the whole system needed a flush and new... Everything.

I'm sure it has already been said but you could always have a shop evacuate the system then flush the lines and replace everything yourself. Then have them add the refrigerant.

I have had FCS quick struts installed about 5 or so years ago on my accord. About 70k miles on them. They started making noises about 2 years but they are still functioning.
