    Amsoil 5W-40 Euro, 11,182 Miles, 2002 BMW 525I

Gary, Thanks for the input I was unaware of how they determine the "should be" values. After reading up on the visccosity charts and checking the oil spec. sheets, it made sense. I'll ask Blackstone if they can re-run the TBN for me. I'll post what turns up.

The range for the SUS on the report was 65-78 for the 5W-40 I was running. According to Blackstone, Due to the fact that there was little to no additive left and the viscosity, they would recommend keeping the interval between 10K & 11K. Are they wrong about the TBN or is it a typo, I guess...

I agree. I'll go to 10K with this oil change & send in another sample. The only thing I can think is that since there was only 8 oz. of makeup oil added, the TBN never got replenished, it just depelted it's way downward throughtout the interval.

First post, First analysis. In advance, thanks for any comments or suggestions. Should the new Amsoil 5W-40 Euro be able to go longer? That is the current fill. Would GC gold perform better or approx. the same? Analysis by Blackstone was very positive. Suggested keping interval btwn 10-11K. Said...
