What oil for my modified 460?

Honestly on these engines I would run a 15W-40 HDEO or a HiPo 20W-50 Especially if you have forged pistons with large clearances. I don't believe that any of the modern high viscosity spread oils are good for this type of engine.

BMW 335i N54 engine and Auto RX??

I have been searching on the forums here and not found this specific topic discussed. I would like to do an Auto RX regimen on my 2007 335i with 23,000 miles. I have successfully done this regimen on my old 330CiC with Castrol GTX 10W-40 which is very close in hot viscosity to Mobil 1 0W-40...

Auto RX - Conventional oil rec for 2001 BMW 330 Ci

I want to put my 2001 BMW 330 CiC through an Auto RX regimen and for that need to switch to a good dino oil. BMW requires BMW 5W-30 or Mobil 1 0W-40 as the only oils that meet BMW LL specs in the US. Since I cannot use the synthetic with Auto RX I need a recomemndation what brand and type of oil...

    No more Havoline at Walmart?

I think Quaker States rebranding of their oil in clear bottles and less focus on the visosity calling the oils wierd name such as Q was a disaster for them and took them completely out of the market.

"Best" OTC dino 20W-50 out there ???

All Mercruiser gas stern drive and inboard engines call for their Merc 25W-40 and if that cannot be had, ONLY 20W-50 is recommended as a replacement. Synthetic is specifically not recommended.

    20W-50 anyone?

I use 20W-50 in my twin merc 8.1S inboard engines in a Sea Ray 340 Sundancer instead if the MErc 25W-40 oil speced for them.
