    Mobile 1 15W 50 in HP 418W

My non oil expert logic is as follows: Typically my car is run when ambient temp is 70 to 95 F. My full roller 418w is a looser build and has low oil pressure at idle when hot. As I remember... nothing lower than 10 PSI at 900 rpm with ligher oil. So I prefer using 10W40 to have a lttle higher...

    Mobile 1 15W 50 in HP 418W

I always used a WIX XP but they seem to not be available around here anymore. It currently has a NAPA Platinium in it. The NAPA filter website says their gold and patinium filters are for synthetic oil and are good up to12 month.

I didn't select it for the ZDDP content since it has a roller cam. I typically use royal purple 10W40 performance oil. Due to the high price of RP, I used M1 in it.

    Mobile 1 15W 50 in HP 418W

Thanks for the feedback. I did run it at full temperature when I put miles on it last summer. I live in a very humid climate (Oregon) so even with my dehumidifier, water absorption for full synthetic is still a question in my mind. I dump the gas out of my 950 holley for off season storage, so I...

    Mobile 1 15W 50 in HP 418W

I have a 1970 Mustang Mach 1 with a stroked HP 351w. I Changed the oil with Mobile 1 full synthetic 15W50 in Nov 2020. The car is stored in an attached garage in the winters with a dehumidifier running. I ran the car ~ 300 miles in 2021. Not much due to covid and no car shows. The car is back in...

    2001 isuzu Trooper LSD oil

Rethinking after Oro comments and spending the time to read the comparison testing paper. I am going to use Valvoline High Performance 80W90 + Lubegard. I think it performs well in the area's of concern in the differential and it meets the price point. Since this trooper came with my wife, I...

    2001 isuzu Trooper LSD oil

Going with Mobil 1 synthetic, 75W-90 and Lubegard friction modifier for the LSD rear diff. and the same oil in the front diff. I inherited this trooper and have no idea if and when the diff oil was changed. Alan

    2001 isuzu Trooper LSD oil

Thanks for the post! All good to know. Is this the lubegard you used? https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/...ted-slip-friction-modifier/42851/4409964 Did you just use 4 oz? Did you replace the front differential gear oil? if so what viscosity did you use? I used 4 oz Motorcraft friction modifier...

    2001 isuzu Trooper LSD oil

any recommendations for the following. GL-5 Limited Slip rear axle differential Isuzu recommends 80W-90 up to 86F and 80W-140 over 100F (off the chart). We had 31 days in the 90's this summer. Doesn't get below 10F Royal purple Maxgear 75W-140 has the modifier already. Seems good but...

    418W Oil change frequancy

I have a high performance 351W stroked to 418. It has a 7 quart oil pan, wix hp filter and mobile 1 oil. I changed to oil last spring and ran the engine less than 500 miles last summer. Should I change my oil because its been in the crankcase for 1 year? Oil gurus please advise. Thnaks Alan
