Shelby would endorse it like he did for Z-Max.

Opinions on the kumho ecsta pa51

A couple of posts about Ecstas in this recent Kumho thread, including mine. With respect to noise, I'll admit that was not a priority in that particular car (Flowmasters albeit without the drone thanks to some resonators).

    Kumho Tires

I ran a set of 225/60/15 "Ecstas" on a '66 Mustang; were still good when I sold it after six years and 15,000 miles. and had some fun track days with them as well.

Have you ever had to replace an engine in a car?

Personally, I have not, but the 390 in my sig was replaced in 1972 (121,xxx miles) with an "authorized Ford Remanufactured" long block. Not sure what failed; it ran but was burning oil at the rate of a quart per hundred miles. I recently found the Ford warranty card in some papers my dad left...

Those with 150,000 miles or more, check in

The '90 Accord in my sig has more than 170K miles. Bought new by my mother-in-law, it ended up with a grandson for graduate school plus another five years of ... ahem .. 'active' use; e.g., it survived a major leak (about 2 quarts) before discovery f the incorrectly installed oil pan gasket when...

Dealership wants to charge for a full brake service with brake rotor replacement under warranty

Definitely annoyong I'd at least try to determine what labor is covered in the Terms & Conditions of your warranty; I've had warranty service (albeit not on automobiles) in which replacement labor was specifically NOT covered.

    Parts markup by mech

I'm more than lucky .. my local guy prefers that I source parts (including fluids that I don't have time or confidence to change myself) trusting me to get OEM/NOS whenever possible. For him sourcing parts is a major pain.

1966 Mustang 200 auto with OD

See attached excerpt from the '66 Mustang onwer's manual. The 'button' on the shifter in an original is used to pull down out of Park or to push it up from neutral to Reverse or ultimately back to Park.

What was the first straight weight oil you bought?

Valvoline SAE 30, early 70s. My dad and I used to tell each other about the prices we'd see it on sale; IIRC the lowest was about $0.38/quart (38 cents). Getting the metal spouts in snug always gave me satisfaction; ran it in the Ford in my sig..

B17 crashed at Bradley Airport in Connecticut

Sigh ... I've been on it twice; the second time with my younger son.
