Some updated pics of the media taken out. Clean and dirty side and the centre tube/bypass. No issues to report. Solid filter for sure. Especially for the money at $10.99 Canadian…
Here is a PG made OE+ prs10575 that was used for 306 hours / 10k kms in my 2018 Ford F150 with Liqui Moly Molygen 5w50 oil. It was in use dor 7 months and was down to 1% oil life remaining on the monitor. The same oil and filter went back on. Really impressed with these.
It sure looks like it. But I know this truck. It’s been in the family since new. It gets a yearly oil change, always with Pennzoil platinum or ultra platinum and a fram ultra. It’s such a low mileage use vehicle so it gets done yearly or sooner if the iolm says to change it. I don’t believe it’s...
Yea it’s not looking great. That’s after draining the can for a while too. So most of it was evacuated. The filter media is clogged up with it though in each pleat. I’m thinking this is a good candidate for a few short intervals to try and clean up some… or some kind of an additive to help. Or...
No cleaner was used. This is with Pennzoil Platinum. This truck sees mostly short trips these days. But I’m not sure on the hours as I don’t believe these trucks had an hour meter till the next generation.
Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and a fram ultra went back in.
This has about 94k kms on it as well for reference. Which is about the same as the other one I just posted.
Cut this for someone I know. 2011 Ford F150 3.5 ecoboost with about 7k kms on the interval. Looks like it’s starting to get sludged up. I’m going to see if they can cut it back some for the next change. It has 6% remaining on the iolm. Variety of driving, winter, summer, towing and lots of short...
Part source is a spin off of Canadian Tire I believe. And they have similar names of products. But these are different than the ones from Canadian Tire. I’ve used those and they are rebadged champion filters. These ones are made by premium guard. These are right around the $10-11 range as well...
I’ve been using this liqui moly molygen 5w50 for quite a while now. It’s really slowed down consumption on my truck. Now it will use 1-1.5L per 100 hours of use it seems on average though. It does seem to have very good cold flow properties but with it being a 50 grade it sure helps with the...
Here is my oe+ prs10575 which is a premium guard made jobber filter for part source. I’ve cut open a virgin one and posted about it here https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/oe-pro-series-prs10575-virgin-cut.381977/
Unfortunately this one seemed to have a small failure. When it was removed...
This was only used for 6500 kms with some dealer bulk 5w20 as the oil filter adapter/cooler was replaced. Some Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w30 went in with a premium guard filter. Hopefully for a longer interval this time.
