    Engine shots - 07 Accord @ 100k miles

Took off the valve cover to do the 100k valve adjustment and replacement of the valve cover/spark plug tube gaskets. Here's the view under the valve cover: Oil changes per OLM (typically 7.5-10k intervals). Mostly run on synthetic blends up until about 60k miles, then switched over to Mobil 1...

2014 Honda Accord Factory Fill, 5034 miles

Is that really a special oil that's different from their standard 0W-20, or is all that moly from the assembly grease used during production?

What grease for brake caliper slide pins?

Doing a brake job soon. I picked up some Sil-Glyde from NAPA the other day after seeing great reviews on Amazon. Turns out, it's apparently only got a very low silicone content? Thinking about returning it and getting something else, such as this Ford XG-3-A silicone brake caliper grease...

    Amsoil ATM 10w30 20000 MI 05 Frontier 4.0L

Considering AMSoil prominently advertises 25k mile OCIs on their website, this looks shockingly bad, even more so considering it was 90% highway mileage. IMO the Motorcraft Synblend run for 17.7k miles on the Ford Ranger also posted in this forum looked way better...

    Ford Focus ST Diesel Wagon!

What exactly is the point of this car when something like a Honda Accord Hybrid accelerates faster (7.2 sec 0-60 for the Accord) and gets significantly better MPG (50/45 for the Accord vs 28/43 for the Focus Diesel)??? Not to mention that Diesel costs more in many parts of the US... I could...

    Changing filter every other OCI

Here's the post which talks about Honda's findings from their own internal testing of oil filters. Again, I personally wouldn't run a single oil filter longer than 10k miles, but will it be harmful to do so? Most likely not. Originally Posted By: threeputtpar I mentioned in another Honda oil...

    Changing filter every other OCI

Before Honda switched over to the maintenance minder system, their official recommendation on their 4-cylinder cars was to change the oil filter every other OCI. Back then, they spec'd 10,000 mile OCIs for their 4-cylinder engines, so that means the oil filter would be in operation for 20k...
