I've had good luck with both Mobil 0W-40 and Rotella 5W-40 in my BMW.
I had a tiny bit of consumption with the 0W, so I'd probably try something thicker in the E30.
If the MPG difference is negligible, I don't see why you would get the 4.7L over the hemi.
I absolutely love'd the 4.7L in my Grand Cherokee, but I always wished for a bit more displacement when pulling larger trailers.. such as our ski boat.
If it was my money, I'd get the hemi.
I would suggest joining a focus form/ford forum and seeing if any body can offer some insight or share a similar experience.
I wish i could help more. good luck
Does the stumbling happen under load only? Such as when traveling up a hill or passing?
This stumbling can be an indication of a plenum/intake manifold gasket leak. Do you notice any coolant consumption?
My family recently sold our 2007 Chevy Cobalt.
The ecotecs are easy on oil. That being said, I chose to run a respectable synthetic and follow the OLM. The car seemed to love Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 and I could rest easy knowing it would provide proper protection.
GM put a lot of work into...
I have no experience with the Genesis engines, but the 2.4L in our '09 Hyundai Sonata seems to run smoother on 5w-30 than 5w-20.
I have no tangible proof for this, besides my personal observations
Motorcraft is a bargain at Walmart. 5qt for $11.50.
You also have the security of knowing it is a perfect match for your Ford engine.
You cannot go wrong with PP, but I'm not sure its worth the premium.

5w20 is excellent stuff, group 2+, and really thins out the 30 weight nicely. i use conventional 5w20 (it's already almost synthetic) mixed with synthetic 5w30. the 3.7l engine was designed by Daimler/Benz and is a true racing...
Our Family Suburban has been switched between PP and Napa Synth multiple times (I tend to buy whichever is a better buy...).
I follow the OLM down to 15% and have yet to notice any difference between the two. I'm imagine I should run a UOA, but there a trillion worse things you could do to your...
