My first Sebring, a 97, bought new, scrapped @ 231k miles.
Second an 04, bought with 103k, scrapped at 239k
Third an 06, bought with 123k, sold with 254k and still going AFAIK.
Transmission failure killed the first two.
Just let this one slide too long, air filter was changed halfway through. Refilled with VRP 5w-30 and won’t let it go as far.
It’s still quite quick too.
This one got away from me. PCV valve froze shut in February blowing out the valve cover gaskets. Plus a breather tube came off. Should have changed the oil then but didn’t. Now loaded up with Valvoline R&P 5w-30.
Sits in the garage, usual trip is 16 mixed miles each way three days a week. Sticking 100% with OEM filters from dealer despite the now exorbitant price.
I believe the primary driver of cartridge oil filters is the “green” aspect of less waste.
If they’re up top like the 2012 Santa Fe I change I’m all for it.
Upon further review of the report, they didn’t include multiple options my car has. I emailed a copy of the window sticker. They raised the payout to a tick over 6K. Took the settlement less the buyback. Now going to find someone to repair it less expensively.
So changing the oil on the wife’s 2022 Kona with the 2.0 Smartstream and the new OEM filter comes with a redesigned filter plug. With the new plug you can’t fit a socket on the housing. You must drain the filter first.
(edit - MOD)
Been busy but finally sat down and really read the valuation report. They deducted a large number of options this car has. Emailed the adjuster a shot of the Monroney label to get it re-evaluated.
