I would replace it. My 2003 F150 fuel pump started going bad last year. I removed the bed, and it was quite easy to replace with it off. I did replace it with a Motorcraft one. I also replaced some of the hoses and the rear shocks while I was at it.

I don't know a lot about the KA24E, but my KA24DE engine has over 300k, with very little issues. Factory service interval on oil change is 7500, but I never let it go that far.

I hate it for you. We recently had a steer tire explode on one of our trucks and it definitely was not a retread. It did quite a bit of damage to the fender and even the driver side step. They are running quite a bit of pressure, between 110-130 PSI depending on the steer.
