Horrible brakes on these 2nd gen dodge diesels

I know a guy that recomends PowerStop rotors and pads. Reported it was a noticeable upgrade and well worth it on the old Dodges. 3rd gen brakes are a massive improvement. Went from a 12.6" rotor to 14" on the front. A lot more pad as well.

    Amsoil DTT 10W-30, 10K, 19 Ram 2500, 6.7 iSB Cummins, 69K

Going off the notes, I wouldn't push that to 11k. Per mile your aluminum is trending up potassium is staying the same, iron is doing better. Rings and bearings look good. Interesting report, Thanks for posting.

Self propelled mower. Gas or electric?

My 40v 20 or 21" push mower from Ryobi is a janky piece of plastic(this is the 300$ model).......and we have enjoyed the lack of noise and smell for 3 years. Electric is great if it fits your needs. I bet you will like the EGO.

In-N-Out ... changes in food dyes and condiments

I tried Whataburger in September, place south of Houston. Better than INO in every way. I think its great places are upping the standards on food quality.

    Dreyer's now "frozen dairy dessert"

Tillamook used to brag about the simple 4 ingredients( cream milk sugar vanilla).....now its got a list of junk mixed in. I haven't found heavy cream at the big stores that doest include .5% of junk I dont want.

Just witnessed a wheel fly off a car!

I've seen 2 of those chevy/gmc on the ground from suspension failure this year. They stopped doing safety inspection here 5 years back, tow companies have benefited

    Co-op DMO 10w30 24k km; 2017 Cummins 6.7

Do it. I erased my post yesterday saying the same thing. I always want to see a different grade tested. If you had 20w50 in it, I would wonder the difference 15w40 would make. Thanks for posting the report.

    Lucas 5w-40 CK4 5k mi; 2024 6.7 powerstroke 20k mi

Surprisingly good numbers. I rarely think people should extend the run(usually the opposite). I would hit 7k next time.

    Redline D6 drain and fill

You shouldn't need that additive when you're already using a premium fluid. Interesting test. Does it act any different than the straight d6 you had before?

Are old-school auto transmissions with non-lockup torque converters harder on AT fluid?

I like the thicker fluids. A synthetic dex3(mobil1,amsoil...) will probably have more shift feel that atf4. tes295/668 would be great choices also. All of those are amongst THE BEST for a 727.

Are old-school auto transmissions with non-lockup torque converters harder on AT fluid?

Many performance builders recommend dex3 in 47 and 48re's, the overdrive/lockup version of a 727. Pretty sure my 95 Dodge dipstick says dex3 on it.

'18 Ram Cummins 38k mi; (oil not disclosed)

Its a good thing you changed it. I would send another sample after 4-5k miles.

Jeep Chrystler ATF +4 vs Valvoline Maxlife

Atf+4 is a good synthetic(semi?) With a 7.x cst. Maxlife starts at 5.9cst and is rated for a cvt, two strikes against it in my book.

    Mixing brands of oil.

I would rather not, especially if you are going for extended oil change intervals. Saying that, I do it often topping off my old Dodge.
