Motorcraft MERCON LV vs Valvoline MaxLife Multi-Vehicle ATF

Rock Auto has Mercon LV for a great price, even when shipping is added in.

    Mevotech vs. MOOG

Yes, Sankei 555 or Proforged. Parts Geek has Sankei and Rock Auto carries some Proforged. Parts Geek has a weird set-up; they don't list the item using the manufacturer's part number. They have some internal numbering system. And sometimes you see the item listed more than once with each having...

    Rock Auto and "Moog" parts

Agreed. Have their outer tie rod ends on my Mazda CX-7.

How much did your Master’s Degree advance your career ?

    I. too, have a Masters in Electrical Engineering. While I mostly enjoyed tackling the subject matter, I don't believe that advanced my career at all.

    Ford 2.5L PCV Replacement

I have a 2011 Mazda CX-5 with the NA 2.5L engine. Since the PCV valves on most cars are inexpensive and easy to replace, I was going to do it on my car; until I watch a video showing just how not simple the job is. I've decided that I'll forgo that service until there's an actual indication that...

2019 Lincoln MKT (similar to Taurus/Explorer) struts, endlinks, shocks and PTU

That's tragic to need all of those parts replaced on a car so new, with that amount of miles. My 2014 Edge with 43,000 miles still rides quite well. And I would never get a car with AWD, especially a Ford, due to the amount of problems that they've had with their PTU's They finally came out and...

    Good places to buy tires?

Sam's Club only has so many brands and models in store. but there are more offerings that you can order on-line from Sam's and have it delivered to the store. But I agree about the staffing.

    M54 valve cover

I have heard that the plastic parts on BMW's go belly up as they age.

    Wearever Hydroboost?

If you're referring to the brake booster, Rock Auto has several brands in stock. Most are remans. They also carry a new Motorcraft unit, but that part is very expensive. One of the remans is Cardone, which doesn't seem to have such a good reputation these days.

    Disc brake tools

This was too small for when I did my friend's 2011 VW Jetta. Was able to use a c-clamp, as the 'head' rotated and along with the pressure of the clamp I was able to twist the piston in. Got lucky with that. Wasn't having any success with needle nose pliers, either.

Genuine Toyota or aftermarket brake pads

The coated Raybestos rotors are the same base rotor as their R-Line, only with the added coating. Got that info directly from the manufacturer.

Mazda MV the same as Mercon V?

The Ford version of the M-V fluid is called FNR5. Same stuff.

    Rockauto Brake Rotors

I have their coated rotors on my 2014 Ford Edge. Factory rotors were rusted out on the inner face in less than 40,000 miles (and caused terrible pulsation when stopping from high speeds). Kept the original pads on and the inner face is still smooth and shiny since last July. The coated rotors...
