    10w-40 in Jeep 4.0

FWIW my 2006 Rubicon has been fed Mobil 1 10W-30 since new. It now has 140,000 miles and the engine does not use oil at all. I did replace the OPDA with a Dorman unit when the Jeep was still relatively new because it started squeaking, I think that was around 25,000 miles.

Chrysler oil spec for 2002 Jeep 4.0 litre

I bought my 4.0 Jeep Rubicon in summer 06. It has run Mobil 1 10W-30HM from the beginning. I now have 124,000 miles on it. No issues, no oil consumption.

    0w-20 and the SN rating

What is a misprint? If you mean that the 6B is a misprint then I am not sure I would trust a company that cannot get it's label certs correct. Kind of a big mistake if that is so. I guess this is why there is an entire forum for oil discussions. If it were simple there would be no need. And...

    0w-20 and the SN rating

Right here, big as Dallas ;): What it does not say is anything about moly. And then there is this, Castrol edge, which inludes Mazda on their label and is GF6: I think I will just run the Castrol Edge for my early change and go from there with the dealer changes. Since other than...

    0w-20 and the SN rating

I guess Idemitsu does not agree because GF6B is clearly labeled on their bottle of 0W-20. And likely will be so on Castrol and Mobil products and the others as soon as they reprint all the labels for the next run of product bottles.

    0w-20 and the SN rating

Then what is the point of the ratings and certifications if not to show a particular product meets the specifications agreed upon by the auto/engine makers? As to fuel economy, I do not see the "magic" there? If the fuel economy of one product is better than another similar product, then why is...

    0w-20 and the SN rating

Yes sir, I think the same way, that being any 0W-20 (ILSAC/SN or higher) oil will achieve the required performance and (importantly) equal engine life protection. If anyone has information that shows the Mazda/Idemitsu product to be actually better performance, better engine life protection...

    0w-20 and the SN rating

So, then again, does that moly content make the Mazda product better than other 0W-20 ILSAC/SN plus oils? Or is that moly content the way that Idemitsu achieves their ILSAC/SN rating as opposed to other proprietary additive packages that may be as good or better from Castrol, Mobil etc. ...

    0w-20 and the SN rating

I am the fella from the other forum. I think the OP is somewhat misunderstanding me. This is what the manual says: I understand that an ILSAC approved 0W-20 oil is going to be SN or now higher. We know this to be true but it is not stated in the manual. However, this is not my question. There...
