If the air intake checks out, maybe check the coolant temperature sensor. The higher outside temp (and/or higher water temp) might be sending the sensor reading over some threshold that gets the engine computer out of whack.

Maybe try cleaning the MAF or check the intake for air leaks. If the MAF is marginal it might work ok in cold weather and not throw an OBD code, but cause trouble at higher temps.

Sewing machine oil is an alternative that might also work. You can apply it with a pin or needle, and should be able to find it either at a fabric store or even walmart in the craft section.

You might want to check the oil filter assembly. If the leak is higher up on the motor it might be coming from the plastic cap of the oil filter. It's the one you mentioned, with the 36mm plastic nut on top. If it looks like the leak is lower down, but in that area, it might be from where the...
