    Long Term Storage

I have come to a conclusion that a better way is either Fluid Film, or for longer term......don't scream now........paste wax. I started using it on my hand tools and am impressed.

    Dumb question of the week

I have never owned a bolt gun. I am looking at a Ruger American Predator. Is there a lube requirement or recommendation for a bolt? I'm looking into a 350 "Legend". Winchester didn't do it any favors with the "Legend" moniker, did they? Anyway, that's my question. Thanks in advance for your advice.

    Long Term Storage

Have you thought of Fluid Film? It's lanolin in a spray can. Available at auto parts stores. Non-toxic, no hydrocarbons, easy cleanup. I put it on a patch and ran it through the bore. When I want to shoot it again, I'll just run a dry patch through.

    Lee Loaders

I have a 30-30 set. I find it is great to make 4-5 rounds for load development without the hassle of setting up the press.

    Cartridge Weight Question

I do handload, and I wouldn't bother with 9mm or 45 ACP. Too cheap to buy. 357 Magnum hunting/SD ammo is worth it to handload if you make enough. OTOH, if you do begin handloading uncommon calibers, such as 10mm, you can shoot for much much less than buying. Additionally, you could expand to...

    Caliber Question

It looks like a rifle/shotgun permit is cheaper and less of a hassle. I recommend a pistol caliber carbine, because the ammo is cheap, the longer barrel and 3-point contact make aiming easier, and recoil is much, much less than a shotgun. Follow-up shots are quicker. I have one as my house gun...

    3UR FE Oil help

I would use the lowest cost synthetic oil when you change. The reason to stick to 0/5W-20 oil is the cam phasers. Most modern engines vary the valve timing to maximize performance and simultaneously reduced emissions. The engineers have already tested the drivetrain in heat and loads for you...

    Are Hi-Point's Really Junk ??

I have a 4095, 40S&W carbine. It ALWAYS shoots, as long as the magazine has ammo!!! It's also a magic trick. I put 40S&W into the breech; but according to my chronograph, out comes 10mm level velocities🙌. This is with 180grain bullets at 1200 fps. To be honest, it requires hand -loading to...

How & what pistol do you carry concealed?

Uncle Mike's win and a Ruger SR40c compact 40S&W. Snappy, but hits hard.

    Hi Point Carbines

HiPoint will ensure that the 10mm will be safe. It isn't that big an increase in chamber pressure over the 40 S&W.

    Anyone running "synthetic" coated bullets?

I'm sorry, can't do it on a Kindle. The poster was Fortune Cookie45LC, or search for "44 magnum coated bullets".

    Are Marlins a good gun?

I'm not wowed by the tube magazine, but the Big Boy Steel that I have isn't painted. The finish is matte black. The wood is VERY well fitted and beautiful. The action is a product-improved Marlin 336. Much better than REP Marlin. No hitches after 200 rounds. More money than most, but you get...

    Ruger announces pistol caliber carbine

Come to think of it, my TNW Aero Survival Rifle is a multi-caliber (10mm, 40, and 357 Sig). Because those rounds have the same cartridge head, all I need to do is buy a barrel for each caliber @$124. The barrel can be threaded too. I got mine at Cabela's for....wait for it.....$689.....LAST...

    Ruger announces pistol caliber carbine

HiPoint is shipping their carbine in 10mm for about half, and excellent customer service like Ruger's. The barrel is also threaded. I like and enjoy my Rugers, but to only offer a wimpy 9mm, to quote a rich man's son, "a nothing burger".
