I have looked at the Sporter but don't think it would be as comfortable on the longer trips. The Harley website does'nt detail the differences in the bikes and why one might suit me better than the other...
Who on this site knows anything about H.D. Cycles.
What is the difference between say a dynaglide and a softtail. I don't know much about these bikes. I would mainly ride it to work and back, 3 miles 1 way. Would probably ride some to the country on weekends and may take some day trips in Texas...
I have been commuting lately. Did so back in 00,01,02 but laid off awhile. Now that high fuel is back I started again. Yes traveling to work now is fun. Sometimes after a hard day the ride home can be a little tuff but it's worth it. I am getting back in great shape to. The bicycle does RULE !!!
That look like a nice setup and alot of bike for 3K. I defintely like that rear suspension design. Do they have a website that might show a dealer in my area.
I think "ICEWAX" is a pretty good chain lube. I'm with WW motor oil or 3 in 1 oil attracts too much dirt and if you ride in pants leaves a nice black smudge on the inside of your'e right leg:)
That is a nice bike! I have a Hard Rock Sport Specialized that has the shocks on the front but I would like to get a dual suspension bike. Have been looking at some D/S Treks and Specialized bikes but just have'ne saved the money yet.
Heres what I say about 10W-30. It did'nt cause a bearing to spin. If you want to use 10w-30 use it. I ran a uoa on my truck about a year ago with Pennzoil 10w-30 it it came back great. I have almost 20000 miles on mine and I plan to keep running 10w-30. To those who want to use 5w-20 I say...
Anyone read this book by Kunstler I think was his last name. It deals with reaching the peak of oil production and the downturn of life as we now know it due to dwindling cheap oil supplies. While I did'nt agree with everything he wrote I thought it was interesting.
I have a 2004 F150 with the 5.4L I run 5w-30 Dec-Feb and 10w-30 the rest of the year. Good ole' Pennzoil dino. No problems yet but I only have 19300 miles on it.
If Pennzoil was as bad as everyone says you could'nt get home tonite for all the sludged up broken down cars. I have used it off and on since 1981 and I have never had an oil related failure. Period. I agree that Valvoline slogan about more mechanincs use Valvoline that any other or whatever...
Hard to beat Pennzoil. You can always find it everywhere. I would go with the Pennzoil. Surprised no one has mentioned the fact that if you care to keep up with your receipts Pennzoil will give you a 10yr/250000 mile warranty on engine, oil related failures if you change the oil every 4mos or...
