Last year we bought a new 2018 Hyundai Tucson with the 1.6 turbo GDI. We love the SUV. Now on to the question. the owners manual specs ACEA A5 or above for the 1.6 turbo, no API for this motor but shows API for all the other motors. I guess I am asking what makes this motor need a odd spec? I...

I love mine. 193k miles.. V10 Replaced ball joints and u joints at 150k. The v10 pulls strong and gets simile mileage to my old 6.0 2500 Chevy.

Good luck with the new car. My 17 Kia Forte (2.0 same as your car) has been a very troublesome. 5 trips to the shop for oil and coolant leaks. They finally fixed the oil leak by replacing the oil pan but still have not fixed the coolant leak. I bought it new and has been in 10 times for repairs...

Great motor! Look at all the police cars and taxis still in service with this motor.
