i replaced the ignition coil pack, plugs and wires in june(?) 2023. it was diagnosed with low compression in cylinder 4 by two different shops, first in october 2023, then again in december 2023. the first one said it was because of leaking valve seats. i should still test the compression myself...

let me also say that i’m not expecting a miracle out of this oil, i was just wondering if it would make the valve seat leak worse, better, or have no effect. the idea being that any sort of sludge or carbon built up might be helping seal the leaking valves, and the oil’s cleaning properties...

i have been doing 3k intervals since i got it with 231k, before that it rarely got serviced or driven at all as it was my grandparents’ extra car for about 10 years. i hope you are right because i’ve been seeing mixed results

i’m sorry if the way i wrote it wasn’t very clear, that’s my bad. i put restore and protect in this engine 600 miles ago, first time ever using this oil. the car has had the leaky valve issue for 25,000 miles/2years now, not related to the restore and protect at all. i’m just wondering if there...

let me start by saying i think Valvoline Restore and Protect is an amazing product and i plan to use it in my other vehicles for future oil changes because i don’t believe they will have any problems. however, i have a 2001 Ford Taurus, OHV 3.0L Vulcan with 257,000 miles. it developed leaking...
