    Post your latest oil change

2015 Lexus GS 350 95k miles Out: Valvoline Restore and Protect 0w20 Fram Tough Guard filter 5k miles In: HPL Euro 0w20 Fram Titanium. I figured Euro is more robust. Like the Restore and Protect but only want to change once per year. Car uses no oil between changes.

    Simoniz?

They use this in Russell Speeder car wash I use. I saw that type of truck delivering product. I do have to admit it results in a great shine. I have used this place for 8 years. I do use other spray ceramic coatings but really don’t see any difference. Required photo.

List when you found evidence that previous mechanic messed up

I’ve got a few. Mind you, these happened a long time ago on vehicles I bought new. 1992 4Runner had a recall for replacement of front axle grease. While in the shop, I get a call that front brakes are worn and should be replaced. I agree. A week later, front axle is squeaking again so I...

I had a major attack today..............

Glad you are OK. I think everyone has covered it. What you seem to have experienced is an anaphylactic reaction. Fortunately you had an epinephrine injection as these can be fatal! Get tested by your physician and don’t leave home without an epi pen.

    Old stereo magazines

As I said, I have seen them on eBay for much less.

    Old stereo magazines

I don’t think I ever argued that the Haflers were not audiophile equipment. At least not that I remember lol. I truly think they are audiophile grade but not esoteric or extremely expensive. Remember, “back in the day” these could be had as a kit or factory assembled. Admittedly, the Musical...

    Old stereo magazines

I recently read an article in a “high end” magazine about 3-4 thousand dollar 1 meter interconnect cables that need to be “broken in” for hours before evaluating. Same with a thousand dollar power cord! And these were the cheap ones!

I enjoy looking at the prices. Using an inflation calculator, that stuff was expensive!!

    Old stereo magazines

lol. As most of you know, I have a David Hafler DH 220 amp and DH 110 preamp which continues to amaze me with its sonic purity even after 40+ years. I was able to find the Julian Hirsch review of these products which he found exceptional! I found his reviews to be an objective evaluation of...

    Old stereo magazines

I grew up in an era when stereo equipment was burgeoning. Each month I would read Stereo Review and Audio magazine. I enjoyed the technical articles as well as equipment and music reviews. I recently found a link that allows access to these magazines! Hours of enjoyment re reading articles...

    Air Filter life span

I used to change my air filter yearly until I read a Caterpillar technical paper on engine damage due to too frequent changes ( wish I had the link, but can’t find it…Still looking, though). Evidently a dust cake (their term) needs to develop which significantly increases the air filter’s...

Another from the archive. I might have posted this already but OK. Surface has seen better days but the sound is still good.
