2 reasons from my time in the industry: #1: Different emissions and fuel economy standards for super duty chassis. #2: Heavy duty transmissions have different bolt patterns than "passenger" duty. Need the engine to match up which influences torque converter or flywheel size.

I would love for it to be a permanent track but I've only seen press releases mentioning it has temporary. Do you have a source for it being permanent? That would be great news.

Is there a thermostat in the transmission cooler loop? Newer F150s have one that don't fully open until fluid temps runs just above 200. I would imagine it might be something similar here.
