Looking for Oil brand and grade recommendations for a '65' Mustang with a 289 High Performance. Car has a mild cam in it. I was thinking of going with the Valvoline VR1 series due to the higher content of Zinc but don't know if I should use a 20W50 or like a 10W40 or even 10W30 grade. This is my...
If you plan to keep this truck a lot longer which it is more than capable of going twice the mileage then I would do the valve cover update on your truck if it was never done, possibly add a 'catchcan' and then use Mobil1 5w30 High Mileage.

$300 is way too much!! That is a true stealership. My Hyundai is charging $139.99 for a 3 part cleaning. They clean the throttle body and run a can through the vaccuum in the intake and then put an additive in the gas tank as well. I would call them out on that.
great success story thanks for sharing. I personally prefer using Deep Creep by SeaFoam. This stuff is awesome and has gotten me out of a rut when PB Blast couldnt pluse you can use it as a throttlebody cleaner. Plus it works great on cleaning the guns too!
I would pay extra attention to the Trans on this car. My friend has one same year and the trans went out with 100k on the clock. Apparently it is very common on these and either nobody wants to work or rebuild these transmissions or nobody knows how. It took my friend 13 MONTHS before he was...
Sopus oils, Quaker State, Pennzoil, Shell all have some of the lowest NOACK numbers out there and Ultra has the lowest! So its probably Ultra doing a fine job. Not that Redline isnt a good oil, its just not its finest feature.
