    Block Heater?

Yeah not a big deal, I go ice fishing all the time in colder. Big whoop. When you’re going to work are you always going in your full sled gear, I know I’m not going in my ice fishing gear…(assuming an office or manufacturing job) driving a electric car with a known short limit on capacity...

    Block Heater?

Never once said it wasn’t beneficial…said it wasn’t worth the expense or effort for the tiny commute with the balance considered…especially when 1/2 the starts aren’t going to be connected to a wall outlet.

    Block Heater?

ROFL in a snowstorm? Seriously? You ever been in -10f with 25mph winds and snow out in the open? By your comments i really doubt it.

    Block Heater?

Great idea until it gets stuck in the snow storm with a weak battery. Commutes in Montana and the Dakotas aren’t always in the city, nor are the roads plowed regularly during storms. Not uncommon to have stranded cars in the town streets during storms depending on municipal organization.

    Block Heater?

When’s the last time you heard that a motor worn out because of cold start wear and tear? These things are tested and beat on in extremes the average driver could only dream of. Sure there would be slightly lower load on the starter. Doesn’t change the fact that the battery is working with...

    Block Heater?

For those tiny short runs, and the fact that you’re not likely plugging it in at work…IMO not worth the effort, time or expense in a modern gas engine. Your engine will never get warm enough, even with a block heater to remove the condensation from your engine oil. I don’t even bother plugging...

    03 4.6l F150 sludge build up

I haven’t had chance to cut the filter open yet, but I haven’t heard any more startup rattle this past week going to and from work. Strange how this is going. It still has the original transmission and coolant in it yet. I plan on changing those this weekend.

    03 4.6l F150 sludge build up

Hey all, bit of an update. Yesterday day I decided to change the oil after about 800 miles on the MMO and generic 5w30 oil. I did the liquid moly flush. The valve train on the drivers side was making noise immediately once the flush was dumped in. It did eventually go away, but still it was...

Possible salvage purchase- 2004 Pontiac Vibe

Hey no worries, it’s your rig and your choice. I’m not looking for perfection for the rigs I do either. Financial is the main reason for my self and the fact I’m an engineer and gear head is just adding to the addiction. I’ve done the ole tree jerk method too. My comments are really to point...

Possible salvage purchase- 2004 Pontiac Vibe

I hope you took measurements and centerlined the car in two planes using a laser at minimum. A tramgauge will help you evaluate if you’ve brought it back to square. Then you can make pulls and work back to bringing everything using your marks on the car. Usually I’ll find the centerline on the...

    Low-Mileage GM 3100 in 2023?

For a Buick you’re right..it’s a bit much. You’ll never get it for 3500…that’s what rotted out highschool cars go for. Flash $6500 cash and see if they bite. How many $8k vehicles out there have that low of mileage….and not rusted out to the max and are cheap to fix…thats for you to decide...

    Low-Mileage GM 3100 in 2023?

Sounds like heaven to me. Car play and the such aren’t all they are cracked up to be.

    03 4.6l F150 sludge build up

I went back and looked at some exchanges with Frank about Auto RX back in the days (04) oddly enough on a 02 Supercrew with the 5.4l. It brought back memories of the truck. I remember taking pictures after dumping the Auto RX on the cleaning phase…the filters and bottom of the bucket looked...

    03 4.6l F150 sludge build up

I pulled the trigger on some Liquid Moly Engine flush. The current fill of 5w30 harvest king ( warren private label oil) and one qt of MMO will have about 800 miles on it this weekend. Truck is running awesome. No startup tick from the drivers valve cover any more. It’s getting driven daily...

Anyone ever purchase/ install/use a Bedrug Classic Bed Liner ?

Imo you’re going to be into it over 1/2 way to a spray in bedliner with 2x the fuss and 1/2 the happiness. I’ve never seen a bed rug that didn’t hold moisture. With an aluminum bed that might not be a big deal vs a steel bed. IMO I’d simply find a different spray in liner company and call it...
