Im planning 5-7k OCI. Im looking at either Valvolyne,Syntec or M1 synthetics. which one is best for this engine?

If that is what you want to choose from, pick the cheapest one. There is no "best" for this engine. It is a great engine regardless of oil.

In the event it matters, Syntec 5w20 is probably the thickest 5w20 out there.

I used to have a 2004 Mazda 3 2.3 and the "residend oil guru" on mazda3forums named SiXX told me to try Exxon Superflo 5w20 and it the engine seemed to have liked it the best. No UOAs to prove it though. It also has a boat load of moly too....its very hard to find it around here though but I still use superflo today when I can find it.

FYI-- Our '06 Mazda 5 with the 2.3 fuel dilutes, even when we drive nearly all highway miles. Unless you get UOAs that show yours doesn't, don't try to extend the drain interval too far. Even with the high-priced brands you're mentioning, you need to take care of fuel dilution.
