Platinums caused pinging issues on my 5.9 magnum in my 97 Ram. Runs better with the OEM standard champions and can now run a lower octane fuel. Only downside is they don’t last as long.
Idea. Possible perform oil change at a different angle and more may drain out.
My ‘07 Accord 1/2 qt more drains out with the front up on ramps with an additional +1.5 degree due to an inclined driveway, compared to draining on a lift that is level.
I would not purposely overfill it. Not worth the risk of extra oil in PCV system or extra that could introduce early oil leaks or possibly oil hitting the crankshaft and frothing the oil. Put the extra 1/2 qt on the shelf to add as needed. If no adding is needed, it will accumulate to another...
I hope! I have a few engines with cold piston slap, but all are quiet when hot. So fingers crossed!

On the pickler's ES350, depends how bad it sounds. Listen to others. May be normal.
My 18 4Runner has piston slap as do many of my other cars. As the engine warms up it goes away. I think it is just part of the short skirt pistons that modern cars have to reduce reciprocating mass and have less cylinder wall drag.

What engine oils are using mPAO in their formulations? mPAO is supposed to be superior to conventional PAO, but significantly more expensive. Superior in regard to film strength and viscosity index.
