    New tool thread

I bought a MAC set that looks pretty much identical to that set earlier in the year. I've not used it yet but it looks like it will cover quite a few applications. I also have the MAC basic fuel injection kit which I did use recently on my 92 Cavalier fuel pump diagnosis.

What are you working on today?

The owner's manual for my pump says to change the oil after every use. Some people claim that you don't have to, but my pump was pretty expensive, so I want to make sure it lives as long as possible. The oil does absorb moisture from the system. I guess how much is dependent on how much air...

What are you working on today?

Thanks for the tips and info. I have the small Snap-on picks so that is good to know. I have heard that about the red locking tabs so I will definitely be careful when I do have to do the job.

Ford F-150 5.0 Coyote Tick and Oil Type

Thanks. I'm just concerned with timing component longevity on both of these vehicles and I'm not sure 5W-20 protects them as well as a 5W-30 would. As far as engine responsiveness with the different oil weights, I asked that question because over the years I have seen some posts on various...

What are you working on today?

My 2014 Mustang GT only has 36,000 miles on it so it's not quite ready for plugs or coils yet but I did bookmark those set of coils you gave the link to and wrote down those plug numbers.

What are you working on today?

I have a set of Robinair manifold gauges that look identical to those that I've been using since 2006 and I've never had any issues from them. I actually have three sets of them. I bought the 2006 gauges new and another set new that I use for R12 systems and I found my other set at a garage...

Help with brake bleed on a Pathfinder

The only way to know is try bleeding it at the calipers first and if that doesn't work, do the master cylinder. I have had master cylinders go dry on a couple of 90's model GM products and me not knowing it and pressing on the brake pedals and I got away with just bleeding at the calipers and...

Ford F-150 5.0 Coyote Tick and Oil Type

My fiancé owns a 2017 F150 with the 5.0L and the only time hers has gotten any type of tick is sometimes after an oil change but it goes away. One time hers did tick for a couple of minutes before going away. She only has about 53,000 miles on hers. I also use Motorcraft 5W-20 semi-synthetic...

What would be the best way to do this coolant flush?

My 2014 Mustang GT is due for a coolant replacement again. I had the dealer do it in 2019 so it still has the old-style orange coolant in it. I will have to use the new yellow coolant as I did for my fiancé's Ford truck. I still have to figure out how much the system holds.

    New tool thread

I will be interested to see how it works. I always wanted to get one but never have.

    3,000 Mile Oil Change

I still do on both of my 98 Chevy trucks since that is what is recommended even though oils are better now than they were back then plus these trucks don't get many miles on them a year. On my 2014 Mustang, I do every 5,000 miles even though it has an OLM. I want to keep the timing components...

    Running Lean. Where to look?

If fuel trims get better at higher rpms, that usually indicates a vacuum leak. I would smoke the intake and see if you see any smoke coming out anywhere.
